by the much-loved Irish composer, works by several leading Welsh
composers and Handel’s mighty Coronation Anthem, ‘Zadok the Priest’.

An opportunity to enjoy a relaxing cuppa and hear about the fascinating
history of the eisteddfod tradition in Llandeilo. By the end of the
nineteenth century the town hosted numerous eisteddfodau, both small
and large, which attracted competitors in their hundreds. Join us to learn
more about the golden age of the eisteddfodau in Llandeilo. You’ll also
get an opportunity to explore the heritage centre in Hengwrt and view an
exhibition on the story of music in the area.

ST. TEILO GOSPELS EXHIBITION
The beautifully illuminated Biblical Manuscript belonged to the religious
community founded by St. Teilo in Llandeilo Fawr between the 8th 10th Centuries. Records made in the margins at that time are the earliest
surviving examples of written Welsh and are a fascinating insight into
Medieval Wales.

To mark Karl Jenkins’s 80th birthday, Wyn’s programme will include
Trumpeting Organ Morgan, the humorous piece inspired by Under Milk Wood.
Llandeilo Fawr Music Festival is once again delighted to support the Tywi
Valley Open Studios event. There we be no less than 28 studios taking part
offering the public the opportunity to meet local award-winning artists in
their own environment - see the artists’ work and creative process.

BARBICAN BRASS
London’s finest brass quintet
“Exciting, Exhilarating - an
evening of sheer delight”
The ensemble comprises some of
London’s premier brass players, with
musicians working with the BBC Symphony, the London Symphony,
the BBC Philharmonic, the Sinfonia of London and the John Wilson
Orchestra. They’ve performed extensively throughout the UK as well as on
international concert platforms and various festivals. Their performance
will add an extra splash of colour to what is an excitingly varied Festival
programme this year and the renowned acoustical qualities of the church
will enhance the quality of the orchestral brass tone even more.
